In the Spring of 2006, we welcomed over 50 guests to the first Matrix Advisors Circle. Our inaugural meeting was held on May 17-19, 2006 at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. Guests were treated to golf, tennis and a variety of other activities, including food and lodging.

The event began on Wednesday evening with a cocktail reception, which was held on the Grand Ballroom Terrace overlooking the James River. The following morning included a group breakfast and the business portion of the program. Guest speakers included an international panel discussion with Mark Lerner of Morgen Evan & Company and Maarten Wolleswinkel of Holland Corporate Finance, who covered M&A trends in Europe and Asia. The panel discussion was followed by a presentation on Strategic Wealth Management by Dan Shapiro of Goldman Sachs. Everyone enjoyed lunch as Tom Brady finished up the morning program by sharing his humorous insights on being the “famous football Dad” of Tom Brady the quarterback for the New England Patriots.

Thursday afternoon, guests enjoyed relaxing, playing tennis or a challenging round of golf on the spectacular River Course. Cocktails and dinner were served later that evening at the King’s Arms Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg and the program wrapped up with a group breakfast on Friday morning.
