Bill has over twelve years of financial and merger & acquisition advisory experience and has managed a variety of transactions with privately-held, middle market companies since joining Matrix in the spring of 2002. These transactions primarily include sell-side and buy-side strategic advisory assignments and private placements of debt and equity. He maintains significant personal relationships with hundreds of both Mezzanine and Private Equity Sponsors.
Prior to joining Matrix, Bill spent four years with BB&T Capital Markets providing merger and acquisition, investment banking services to Mid-Atlantic financial institutions, as well as issuing public equity for companies in the REIT and specialty finance industries. Previously, he worked in the Corporate Finance department at Davenport & Company LLC where he concentrated on private company valuations for gift, estate and other purposes. He serves on the Finance Committee for the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities, a not-for-profit that owns and preserves historic Virginia properties, including Historic Jamestowne.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and an executive M.B.A from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has passed the Level II American Society of Appraisers examination. He is also qualified as a Series 7, Series 63 and Series 79 FINRA General Securities Representative.
