We maintain constant communication with the private equity, mezzanine and senior lending markets, and over the past 20 years have developed thousands of relationships with these key industry participants. By running a targeted and structured transaction process, more than often we are able to achieve transaction values above our quoted valuation range.   • Senior Level Attention

    Many investment banking firms define senior level attention as "senior members of the team who are involved in all 'critical' aspects of the assignment." You should expect true senior level attention on all stages of your project, not just those loosely defined as critical. At Matrix we believe a transaction is shaped and positioned in its early stages, during initial buyer and investor contact, and that senior level attention is required on a daily basis in order to truly maximize value.

    We handle each transaction with a "hands-on" approach. Our deal teams are comprised of experienced professionals, including senior level managing directors, who, on a daily basis, stay involved with every aspect of the transaction. We are deeply committed to our clients and provide them with a confidential and intensive approach to detail and professionalism that reaches far beyond their expectations.

  • Extensive Experience

    Our Managing Directors have an average tenure of over 13 years with the firm, and our Vice Presidents average roughly seven years. Extensive experience also means having expertise in the specific type of transaction and industry in which you are working. Matrix specializes in exclusive sales and divestitures, Staged Liquidity Transactions® and capital raising. Most of our transactions are highly complex requiring not just industry knowledge, but a deep understanding of alternative structures, financing markets and tax implications that specifically relate to our well defined target market.

    Although our capabilities allow us to work on much larger transactions, we are laser focused on providing services to privately held companies and smaller corporate divestures. This is an area where the Capital Markets, including Senior Lenders, Mezzanine & Term B Lenders and Equity Investors are less "published". We have strong relationships with these groups without the conflicts that many investment bankers create by diversification.

  • High Level of Confidentiality

    Given that our roots hail from representation of private companies, we consider absolute confidentiality of paramount importance. Our clients are typically, and rightly so, extremely sensitive to rumors and potential dissemination of their corporate information into the hands of parties that have no interest in investing, or worse yet are simply "information gathering." At Matrix we do not over expose your company. We take the time to research which parties would have a sincere interest in the opportunity and work with you as a team to compile a carefully selected target list of investors and lenders. It has become all too common for investment banks to include a disproportionate amount of Private Equity Groups in the information flow in order to gain favor with them as a future client.

  • Independence - Objectivity

    As an independent firm, we avoid the conflicts and pressure to share information with those who will not treat the information with the utmost confidentiality and will only send it to those parties that have a need to know. You deserve an investment bank that unquestionably has your interests as its only consideration.

  • Proprietary Resources

    You want a firm that maintains an in-house proprietary database of resources that is focused on your specific type and size transaction. The middle-market is unique, and resources that fit micro deals or mega deals will not benefit your transaction. Matrix's customized in-house database consists of more than 2,000 private equity groups, strategic acquirers, senior and mezzanine lenders, as well as other institutional investors. These valuable resources are the result of years of cultivating strong relationships and are a vital part of the process.

  • Cross Border Capabilities

    Last, but not of least importance is working with a firm that has experience and resources internationally. This capability is becoming more and more important in middle-market transactions.
